a place to breathe, listen and return.

I am Nicola Griffiths, founder of Breathfolk

Breathfolk is a contemporary breath-led practice shaped by how we are living, fast, disconnected, holding too much for too long.

Through breath, sound and shared presence, I create environments where the nervous system can settle and the body can be heard. Each experience draws on rhythm, silence and attention to support a different way of listening.

The work sits between care practice and artistic process, informed by lived experience, an arts background and a commitment to grounded care.

When we breathe together, something shifts and what begins as individual becomes shared.

Some of this work also takes shape through Grown Ass Women Collective (GAWC) - a dedicated space for women of colour to breathe and gather in community.
