It takes a village.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but most of us don't live in a way that gives us easy access to that village anymore.

Breath, Bump & Beyond is my attempt to make a little more room for one.

I remember how important it was in pregnancy and early motherhood to be around people who understood something of what I was going through because they were somewhere in it too. Family and friends can bring love, experience and wisdom, but there is something different about the company of people living through this particular moment alongside you.

There are so many ways into motherhood and our experiences won't all be the same. You might come while you're pregnant and return after your baby is born, or arrive with a newborn or a slightly bigger babe who isn't yet on the move.

Breath, Bump & Beyond brings together breath, rest and time to gather. Your baby is very welcome, but this space has been created to centre you.

What happens when you come?

● Arrive

Come in, get yourself and your babe settled and take a moment to land.

● Gather

We’ll begin together with a short welcome and check-in.

● Breathe

A guided breath practice with time to pause, rest and reconnect with yourself. Everything is invitational and you can tend to your baby whenever you need to.

● Stay awhile

Tea, a little something sweet or fruity, and time to talk, share or simply be around other women who are somewhere in it too.

What you might need

For your comfort

A yoga or exercise mat, and anything else that helps you or your babe feel comfortable and supported.

Already here

Some blankets and cushions will be available, alongside tea, water and a small selection of snacks.

A few things you might be wondering

Hi I’m Nicola

I'm a breath practitioner and facilitator, and Breath, Bump & Beyond has grown partly from thinking back to what I needed during my own experience of pregnancy and early motherhood.

My approach to breath is invitational and centred on listening rather than getting it “right”. I'm interested in creating spaces where we can slow down, notice what's here and have room to be ourselves.

I’ll be there to guide the breath practice, hold the shape of our time together and put the kettle on.
